well finally i have arrived in scauri and i just ate a fabulous meal with my host family consisting of 4 courses (fetttucini, meatballs/beans, fruit, and tiramisu)!! bellisima!
last night, our plane ended up being diverted in bangor for almost 2 hours!! apparently a woman had a stroke and needed to be rushed to the hospital....i hope she is ok!! after she was taken off the plane, us airways then decided that it had to throw away all the food they made us because it went bad and get us new FROZEN turkey sandwiches. needless to say it wasn't very pleasant and it made me miss my flight to rome this morning!! that was the beginning to my huge headache of a day
the people at us airways had no idea what they were doing and gave the passengers absolutely no information if they missed their connectons. luckily, i found another stranded passenger who missed her connection to napoli and together we tried to fight the man. i ended up being put on a 1240 flight out of milan to rome on luftansa. this then caused me to miss my trains. oh the joys of traveling and being in a confusing airport in a country that's not your own.
but i guess that's enough complaining because i'm here now and my host family's house is about a 3 minute walk to the beach!! i also have my own little flat above them with my own bathroom...a pretty sweet deal i think. my host family seems really great and although they don't speak much english both of us tried a lot to communicate during dinner!! i think it will be a fabulous week!
